In Memorium: James Alenson

Posted in Environment by erichard on the January 20th, 2007

I know that this blog is focused on environmental issues, but I have decided to not write an entry today out of respect for James Alenson, a freshman at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School who was killed today.

The climate crisis will still be around tommorow and I’ll resume the normal entries then.

Until then, a virtual moment of silence.

Thank you for entering this Eric. It is such a shock and tragedy. We have a lot to do to remedy this situation, if we only knew what.

We live in Sudbury and don’t know James or his family, but we have several kids that are the same ages as James’ siblings. It is heartbreaking and sobering… Our hearts go out to both families.

i am only a student at a sudbury school and i arrived at school seeing my friends gathered in a corner talking about someone getting stabbed at the high school all my friends thought that james actually wasnt going to die but that was not true. my friend has a brother at the high school and she going to school knowing about it was brave one of her brothers best friends stevon was in the bathroom in a stall at the scene of the murder. he stayed hidden for a while because he didnt want to get murdered as well when he got out of the stall he rushed into the hallway there lay james face down w/ blood smeared all over him he tried to go get help from the office but he was too late. even though i never met him best wishes to his family oh and his sister grace did not know about this untill she got home from school her parents were not been able to be reached untill ab out an hour after the accident. i hope that everyone takes a moment to think that if it happened in sudbury massachusetts it could happen anywhere.
all my best to James’ family and close friends

I just wanted to let people know that I fully support people using this area to express their thoughts, feelings, and reactions to the tragedy at L-S. If this site can help create a community where people can come together and help each other through the greiving process, that’s the least we can do.

If there is anything we can do to make this possible, don’t hesitate to let me know.

Even as I start posting new articles on the blog, this page will continue to be available at the following URL:

Feel free to pass that on to others if you think this can help them.

On behalf of everyone at the EDC, we express our deep sorrow for all of those who have been impacted by this event and hope we can do our small part to help.

    Your moderator,

Thank you for your observance, Eric. I hope there will be a community - wide vigil or memorial very soon so that children of all ages know we support and care about them, and that they are not alone in confronting unexpected tragedy.

I did not know James or his family, but I used to go to school in Natick and I am friends with a few people who knew him. I also have a couple of friends at Lincoln-Sudbury, and I’m sure they have been taking this hard as well. This was a horrible tragedy which never should’ve happened, he seemed like such a great kid. My thoughts and prayers are out to James, his family, his friends, and everyone else who knew him. May he Rest In Peace.

I am a student at Wilson Middle School which James attended for 5, 6, and 7th grades. I didn’t know him personally but i do know people who knew him. They all agreed that he was an amazing and sweet person who always stood up for himself. My friend’s brother said “He was my first friend.” It’s horrible that something like this could have happened. My thoughts and hopes are with James, his family, his friends, and his school. I hope that anyone who knew him will remember for years and years to come. Rest in Peace James.

I do not live in Sudbury, but in a nearby town. I wish to give my condolences to both families and the residents of the town as they try to go on in the following days. I am praying for peace from the heartache and the strength to comfort one another.
